108 asanas of 2014 from Robert Sturmanby Jeffrey Posner December 23, 2014 2 comments
A few years ago I had the pleasure of meeting the well known photographer Robert Sturman. At the time I was looking for some yoga photos to use for my personal marketing and workshops. I didn’t know much about the industry but I had seen Robert’s photos on various media outlets and was impressed by his work.
It didn’t take long to decide…
Not knowing anything (including location) I just contacted him through his website and the rest is history. Over time we have built a great working relationship…and I am thankful for that.
Here is a compilation of his most recent work for the year of 2014. (click to view all 108)
a little more about Robert:
Robert Sturman – A dedicated yoga practitioner himself, Sturman’s work has increasingly focused on capturing the timeless grace and embodied mindfulness of asana. His portraits, whether set in the lively streets of Manhattan, the expansiveness of Malibu’s beaches and canyons, the timeless elegance of Walden’s New England, or the bleakness of San Quentin Prison, remind us that there is beauty everywhere. In Sturman’s own words “I often think of Rumi: ‘I can’t stop pointing to the beauty.’ That feels right to me.”
